A review of the life of Francine Gomez, until recently the CEO of Waterman, an upmarket French pen company. She is probably one of France’s best-known business person. Ms Gomez reflects on her personal and public life and appraises the kind of choices she has made. Given the acquisition of Waterman by Gillette, the theme of culture compatibility is also discussed.
